Busy, busy!

Hedgerow baskets 18

Yet again it has been far too long since I last posted an update. I have been busy spinning, weaving, basket making and pottery.

I have made several scarves, some for my stall and a special one for my sister’s birthday. My latest loom is a real pleasure to use and is so compact that I have been able to weave in the house through the freezing weather we have had this winter.  Scarf May 18The scarf pictured is a two block twill weave – the first time I had set up all eight shafts. The warp and weft are hand spun and dyed Romney wool.Log basket Apr 18

I have have had fun with my hedgerow baskets again, although the weather has been terrible every time the willow has been soaked and is ready to go. In fact I was racing to finish them before the snow arrived.

My aim now is to regularly – hopefully a craft a week update blog. I have a stall booked at Bury St Edmund’s on Whitsunday so I am planning to get lots of lovely items made and look forward to sharing them here.

Next time I will expand on my pottery fun and T bag art – who knew it was a thing!
