2018 was a busy and exciting year

Cake

There are never enough hours or days to get everything done but I have just been looking through the photos from last year and it was fun and productive!

The most exciting event was my son’s wedding at the end of November – what a magical day. On the craft side of this I made place name holders, pew end decorations, a cake and some of my outfit.placename

Place name holders

Over a few months we collected a variety of cones from places that are special to both families. I washed them all carefully and then baked them in the oven for 30 minutes at 200 degrees C . I painted the tips of the cones with gold acrylic paint and then glued groups of cones on a rectangle of blue card – checking that a small card could be displayed easily.

Pew end decorations

Each element oDSC_1505f these decorations – the cone, Honesty, Gypsophilia and conifer sprigs – was wired individually and then tied together and the wire turned into a loop. The ribbon was then knotted  at a measured length and a bow tied over the looped wire. This was all done at home around a dining room chair and made the placing of the decorations a quick and easy affair.
